Winchester Business Burglarized

At 1:57 p.m. July 5, Winchester police responded to Nail Tech on Church Street for a report of a past burglary, according to a police report. Sometime overnight, someone removed the business’s air condition from a window to gain entry, according to the report. The store’s front desk area was ransacked, but nothing appeared to be stolen, according to the report. However, about 10 bracelets and 50 silver plated toe rings were stolen, and their estimate total value was $280, according to the report.

9:24 a.m.: Police called to Mount Vernon Street for a report of a two-vehicle accident, according to a police report. No tows or transports reported.

10:30 a.m.: Police responded to Sargent Road on a report of a single-vehicle crash, according to a police report. A tractor-trailer traveling down Sargent took down telephone wires connected to a pole, according to the report. No tows or transports reported.

July 4

12:37 p.m.: Police called to Cambridge Street for a report of two-vehicle accident, according to a police log. No tows or transports reported.

12:57 p.m.: A woman visited the police station to report a larceny, according to a police report. Sometime on or after June 28, someone stole two checks totaling $1,275 from her purse, according to the report. Police advised the woman to place a stop payment order on the checks and ask the issuing parties to reissue them, according to the report.

1:10 p.m.: Police responded to the area of Sheridan Circle and Main Street near Citgo Gas Station for a report of a two-vehicle accident, according to a police report. A car was reportedly in the left lane of the southbound lane when it suddenly, and without using a directional, attempted to make a right turn into the gas station, hitting the motorcycle. The motorcycle rider hit the right fender of the cat, went through the gas station, sideswiped a telephone pole and then dumped his motorcycle in the process, according to the report. The motorcycle rider, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to Lahey Clinic in Burlington. The motorcycle was towed from the scene, the report notes.

July 5 

12:31 p.m.: Police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of the rotary on Main Street, according to a police report. A 58-year-old Winchester man was cited for failing to yield when entering a rotary and operating a vehicle on a public way while being revoked after the officer had to swerve to avoid hitting the man’s vehicle, according to the report.

July 6 

3:13 p.m.: Police responded to the intersection of Wildwood and Cambridge Streets for a report of a two-vehicle accident, according to a police report. One vehicle was towed, and no transports reported.

4:50 p.m.: Police responded to Cross Street on a report of a past burglary, according to a police report. A realtor selling the unit at Cross Street encountered someone around the age of 15 inside the unit on the third floor, and he told the realtor that he just wanted to see the unit before he took his clothes to the dry cleaners, according to the report. The owner of the unit told police that a bag of old clothes may have been taken, but outside of that nothing appeared to be missing, according to the report. Police advised the owner to change the security code to the unit and the garage, according to the report.

6:37 p.m.: During a detail at the Middlesex Fells Reservation, police issued nearly a dozen citations for people or pets trespassing in the town’s water supply, according to a police report.
