Winchester Fire Department Responding to Fire on Arlington Street

There's smoke showing from an attic at 38 Arlington Street.

The Winchester Fire Department responded to 38 Arlington Street for an attic fire.

According to the Winchester Fire Department, there was smoke and flames coming through the roof on arrival.

The department received a call from smoke showing through the roof shortly after 11 a.m. and by noon the fire was knocked down.

Winchester firefighters had to climb onto the roof of the large, irregular shaped home, located adjacent to the Winchester Country Club in order to extinguish the flames coming from the attic.

Winchester Police continue to speak with witnesses, while fire personnel walk around the roof.

According to one witness, the home is one of the largest in the neighborhood.
