Winchester Man Arrested After Allegedly Punching Woman

A Winchester man was arrested in Arlington and charged with assault and battery.

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

Zhong Wang, 45, of Holland Street, Winchester, was arrested at about 8:25 p.m. Wednesday on Summer Street and charged with assault and battery. Wang allegedly punched a woman in the face four or five times during an altercation inside a residence. He told police that the woman tried to slap him before he hit her.

Thursday, Sept. 13

Bryan C. Vernazza, 35, of April Lane, Lexington, was arrested at about 7:34 p.m. Thursday on Cedar Avenue and charged with felony breaking and entering, receiving stolen property and being in possession of a Class C substance. Vernazza allegedly stole a $500 bicycle from behind a Fountain Road residence. He also had an unauthorized prescription drug, police said.
