Aberjona Lot Requires Parking Permits

Daily parking tickets will not be allowed in the lower Aberjona Parking Lot.

The lower Aberjona Parking Lot is making a switch to required permits today as part of the town's parking plan.

Starting today, if cars do not have a parking permit for the lower Aberjona Lot near the Winchester Center train station, they will be subject to ticketing by the Winchester Police Department.

Residents can purchase a permit for $125 per quarter, and those recieved now will be valid through Dec. 31, 2012.

Residents must apply for a permit at the Winchester Engineering Department in Town Hall during 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Proof of residency is required. 

Town Center Employees are able to apply for a permit through the Winchester Engineering Department for free.

Permits will be honored in the Aberjona, Waterfield, and Jenks lots.

Spaces are still available on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

The upper Aberjona Lot will remain on a two-hour rotation for parking spaces.
