French Delegation to Visit Winchester

Winchester will have the pleasure of welcoming the Mayor, City Councilors and other civic officials from its sister city in France, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, near Paris. The delegation will be in town to reaffirm the bond of this twenty-two year old relationship, administered locally by the Jumelage Association. Hosted in the homes of Jumelage members, the French delegation will be officially welcomed to Winchester at a reception by the Board of Selectmen at the Winchester Town Hall. This reception is open to the public, and takes place at 6:30 pm on Monday, the 12th of March, in the Winchester Room. Over several days, the delegation will also tour part of Winchester’s civic infrastructure --- the DPW, the Swartz Water Treatment facility and the new state-of-the-art emergency vehicle, for example --- in addition to meeting with the Consul-General of France in Boston, being received at the Statehouse by Senator Pat Jehlen and Representative Jason Lewis, and touring Salem and Harvard University.
