Former Finance Committee Member to Run For Selectmen Seat

After most recently serving as a member of the Winchester Town Manager Search Advisory Committee and Finance Committee, Jennifer Wilson pulled nomination papers for the Board of Selectmen seat.

There are two members of the board that are up for re-election – Chair Forrest Fontana and Vice Chair, Roger Berman. Fontana has pulled his nomination papers, but

Wilson first joined the Finance Committee eight years ago after moving to Winchester. Wilson said that she wanted to learn more about the town and to meet people. Now she wants to continue improving Winchester as a member of the Board of Selectmen.

“I'm seeking a seat on the Board of Selectmen as a way of continuing to contribute to the community my family loves to live in,” Wilson said. “With a new Town Manager and important decisions facing the town, this is an exciting time to be involved, and I welcome the challenge of working with others in town to make good decisions for Winchester's future.”

Wilson, who has three children at the , has lived in Winchester for a little more than a decade.

Besides Finance Committee and the advisory committee, the Euclid Avenue resident has also been a Town Meeting member since 2003.

“I found that being involved in government is a great way to know what’s going on,” Wilson said. “Winchester is a place that gives so much to the people that live here. I’m just hopeful that I’ll be in a position to help the town.”

Friday, Feb. 3 is the last day for candidates to obtain nomination papers and Tuesday, Feb. 7 is the final day to submit them. Town elections will be held on Tuesday, March 27.
