Stamp Prices to Increase in 2014

By Liz Taurasi

With the new year, comes an increase in stamp prices to 49 cents, up 3 cents from the current price.

A book of first-class one-ounce stamps will now cost $9.80. Forever Stamps purchased before the increase will still be valid for all one-ounce letters.

The changes, proposed in September, are intended to generate $2 billion in revenue for the postal service.
