TELL US: From Calls to Mailers, Which Candidate Has Bugged You the Most?

The candidates are into their final push, reaching out to voters in all sorts of ways.

We have just days left until Election Day, and each campaign is into the final stretch.

In many cases, that includes an overwhelming amount of contact with voters, from phone calls to roadside "visibilities," to flyers in the mail and endless television ads.

Regardless of your political stripe, you have likely been subject to most of this. Which part of the final push has bugged you the most? Which candidate have you heard from the most? Tell us in the comments section below.

priceless! Anchor homes in on Warren wigwam http://bostonherald.com/news/columnists/view/20221105anchor_homes_in_on_warren_wigwam Khazei: “I asked Warren if she had anything in the house that reflects her Native American heritage.” On the videotape, you can see Granny’s smile freeze on her face. After all, Kim Khazei’s cousin is Alan Khazei — muscled out of the Democratic primary to clear the field for the carpetbagging fake Indian. Was this question payback from Clan Khazei? Finally, Granny replies, the smile still unmoving. Her voice is frosty. “I have plenty of pictures. They’re not for you.”

This mansion of hers is yet another inconvenient truth, upsetting her invented narrative about beginning life on the middle class’ “ragged edge.” Last year, before giving an interview to New York magazine, her campaign insisted that the house be “off the record.” Last week on NECN, the posh estate was described as a “Victorian fixer-upper.” Really? According to records, she and her professor husband picked it up for $447,000 in September 1995. The statewide average price in Massachusetts for a home that month was $181,816. Some fixer-upper. As usual, when Granny gets caught stretching the truth, she stretches it a little further. Here’s what she told Kim Khazei: “You know the phrase ‘a rescue dog?’ This was sort of a rescue house.” I thought a “rescue dog” was one in danger of being put down. I’m pretty certain Granny’s Linnaean Street mansion, almost 4,000 square feet, was not in such danger. You know her M.O. If you don’t like her current explanation, wait five minutes.

A president who acts/talks like a community organizer, sad. Mitt-mentum solves that tomorrow!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ShdiYQ1EHvA "Don't boo. Vote, Voting's the best revenge."
paul surette November 05, 2012 at 09:03 PM
Let's be clear about this, Shay.....READ my name. It's 'Paul Surette'.....not the other 'Paul' and apology accepted!
paul surette November 05, 2012 at 09:11 PM
And obviously, Shay, that ridiculous remark regarding Elizabeth Warren's 'heritage', well, normally I don't even respond to statements like that, but here goes.....I don't care what color someone is....pink , red, black , green......who gives a rat. Color or heritage doesn't define a person. You're now implying either Paul (not me) or myself, are racists. You know where you can shove THAT remark :)
paul surette November 05, 2012 at 09:17 PM
To Chris Caesar and Mark Ouellette: Clearly the two of you have no handle on what is said on these threads. Either you suffer from selective reading skills, or you agree with what people like Diana say. All that is ever spewed from her is nastiness and snide remarks. And now the race remarks? If you want people to step up their game, then how about the two of YOU step up yours and tell the toad to refrain from the race remarks like the one she made earlier in this post! Practice what you preach !
Diana November 05, 2012 at 09:17 PM
Also, I never cease being amused at the men screaming on the internet that the war on women is a myth. You know that they scream it on the internet because they're rightly scared as hell to say it in the actual physical presence of women.
Diana November 05, 2012 at 09:25 PM
Also, race remarks in this thread? What on earth are you on about?
Patricia November 05, 2012 at 09:35 PM
Good idea Tony. I wonder if we can think of something to stop this needless mailings before the next election. I wonder what the Post office would say if we simply wrote Return To Sender on all these... Besides, for any candidate running with an environment theme - they could start this by declaring they will not use mass mailings.
ron johnson November 05, 2012 at 09:44 PM
Diane, I am not the one screaming, EW is and big deal I mis-typed a word, you should be so perfect. I love it when left to nothing else to say resort to snide comments and assumptions about the person you with whom you happen to disagree. I am not scared of EW and if fact, my wife is just as if not more qualified than she. I have also worked with many powerful woman that I respect and who have not depended upon misrepresentation of their pasts. So, I guess Diane you can continue to me amazed if you wish, I chose to deal with the facts as presented. One final thought, if you saw EW hide behind the governor at an early news conference when asked about her heritage, you may re-think your position that she is a powerful woman.
Patricia November 05, 2012 at 09:45 PM
Warren would be a junior Senator with no experience in politics. She would get nothing done, being a newbie. No one is scared of Warren, more like find her annoying. Besides if this current administration could not even bring up charges against Corzine, what makes you think Warren would be any different?
Patricia November 05, 2012 at 09:46 PM
The democratic party is not a party of compromise, it's their way or no way. You can tell by some of their rabid supporters like Diana. I think she means well but she can't see the damage one party people like her are doing to this country.
Patricia November 05, 2012 at 09:50 PM
Unfortuantely, you cannot see that MA was the prize for Warren not getting appointed to that board. I don't think anyone wants to work with her, she's no politician - which is a handicap. She's going to be ineffectual (if elected).
paul surette November 05, 2012 at 09:56 PM
Well said Vincent !
Diana November 05, 2012 at 11:32 PM
Um... I'd just like to point out that my request for Paul Surrette to point out my "race remarks" was deleted but his calling me a toad stands. I know y'all are busy, and it's not really my nature to counter-whine every one of Paul's sniveling protestations about life's unfairness, but I will if I need to.
Dave Gray November 05, 2012 at 11:33 PM
Well, because I had absolutely nothing better to do, I re-read all the posts in this string. I didn't see one that even remotely struck me as being "racist". While I have questioned Chris Caesar in the past about seemingly innocent posts that have been removed, in this case, I can't find a reason to fault him. or Mark Ouellette. Sorry, Paul, I just don't see the reason for your criticism.
Diana November 06, 2012 at 12:21 AM
Patricia, how does that argument not apply to Brown when he was elected?
Chris Caesar November 06, 2012 at 12:44 AM
Name-calling in a post complaining about name-calling; seems sincere.
paul surette November 06, 2012 at 01:02 AM
it's fine Leonardo. Nobody died from the bad spelling. I just tend to take folks more seriously when they take their grammar the same way :)
Tanya Seebach November 06, 2012 at 01:09 AM
Paul 12:38 pm on Sunday, November 4, 2012 Lizzy Liarwartha should stick to her "heritage" and just use smoke signals next time. I predict she will be back teaching ONE class at Harvard next week. ... $340,000 to teach one class! I am sure she feels our pain! Okay, this was posted by Paul (Somebody) and to me it is racist and inappropriate...notice the last name he gives Elizabeth Warren as well as his reference to her using smoke signals. Please...that is the best argument you can come up with?
Tanya Seebach November 06, 2012 at 01:22 AM
No racism here...is that really the best you got?? Diana, I accidentally flagged one your replies when I meant (and did) flag this ignorant comment by Paul. Just so you know...
Andrew Sylvia (Editor) November 06, 2012 at 01:25 AM
Paul and Diana, This article is about political candidates. Talk about political candidates, not each other. Thanks.

Mr 0 and Ms Cowley lied during the second debate, this is video that did not air, conducted on 9/12/2012 Mitt-mentum! http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50134495n&tag=mg;60minutes KROFT: Mr. President, this morning you went out of your way to avoid the use of the word terrorism in connection with the Libya Attack, do you believe that this was a terrorism attack? OBAMA: Well it’s too early to tell exactly how this came about, what group was involved, but obviously it was an attack on Americans. And we are going to be working with the Libyan government to make sure that we bring these folks to justice, one way or the other. KROFT: It’s been described as a mob action, but there are reports that they were very heavily armed with grenades, that doesn’t sound like your normal demonstration. OBAMA: As I said, we’re still investigating exactly what happened, I don’t want to jump the gun on this. But your right that this is not a situation that was exactly the same as what happened in Egypt. And my suspicion is there are folks involved in this. Who were looking to target Americans from the start. So we’re gonna make sure that our first priority is to get our folks out safe, make sure our embassies are secured around the world and then we are going to go after those folks who carried this out.
paul surette November 06, 2012 at 01:34 AM
To reiterate: I DID NOT post anything about Elizabeth Warren....folks, my name is, now read this with me....P-A-U-L....S-U-R-E-T-T-E.....kabish?
Marion Bradford November 06, 2012 at 01:55 AM
Uh! what was the question?, who has bugged you the most, all of them, I have happily put all of the glossy colored mailers, through the shredder, and got a great deal of satisfaction while I did it..... I'm sick to death of it all. and folks stick to the subject
Chris Daley November 06, 2012 at 01:56 AM
This entire election bugged me: the pandering, condescension, lies and distortions on TV mostly, and the mailbox ads. I have Caller ID and the phone rang and rang close to ten times during my painting at my desk today, all went unanswered. Yes Churchill is right; I had heart till about Reagan, then I got brains! Bush, Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush and McCain. Our national DEBT can't afford the man from Hawaii-Kenya-Chicago so I go with the millionaire from Mexico-Michigan-Utah-Mass. I saved Brown's mailings, but used Warren's flyers like another did with Tierney's. Merry Christmas is NEXT!
Diana November 06, 2012 at 02:03 AM
Um... not Churchill. We covered that.
Diana November 06, 2012 at 02:15 AM
I mention that only because a thinking person (i.e., one with "brains") would generally take that as an opportunity to wonder "Hey, what else am I wrong about?"
Francesca November 06, 2012 at 03:07 AM
I think Elizabeth Warren has bugged me the most. I'm tired of the daily ringing of my doorbell. I'm tired of the automated calls to my house. Just yesterday, there was a prerecorded message from Matt Damon for Elizabeth Warren. I'm also tired of the Question 4 calls about Somerville. My phone is filling up with blocked calls. I want my peace. I don't need people bothering me on Saturday and Sunday. I don't care that it's freedom of speech. I have a right to privacy. I made a No Soliciting sign for my door yesterday hoping to have some peace tonight. It says, NO SOLICITING NO POLITICS NO SUBSCRIPTIONS NO RELIGION DO NOT DISTURB UNLESS YOU ARE UPS, FEDEX, USPS, DHL, AUTHORIZED DELIVERY, CLOSE FRIENDS/FAMILY. So far so good. I've shut off the ringer to my phone too. I want my peace of mind.
