Town Meeting: Police Chief Albertelli Position Extended

Town Meeting voted to extend the keep Police Chief Kenneth C. Albertelli until June 30, 2016 on Thursday, November 7.

Richard Howard spoke in front of Town Meeting members, lobbying for the petition to continue Chief Albertelli. “Obviously, I’ve come to work with the Chief in the last 18 months that I have been here as Town Manager. I have a preference to keep him on beyond the laws that require retirement at age 65.”

The department has gone through a fair bit of personnel shifts due to promotions and retirements and the Town Manager said that the Chief provides an essential stabilizing force in the department.
