Warren Up in Polls, Herald Endorses Brown: Who's Winning?

With Warren holding a small lead in the polls, and Brown getting a key endorsement from the Boston Herald, who do you think has the momentum coming into the final days of the election?

Democrat Elizabeth Warren is up by five points over incumbent Republican Scott Brown in the latest WBUR/MassINC poll of the Massachusetts senate race. That's a near-total reversal of the BUR poll last month, which had Brown up by four on Oct. 9.

In fact, Warren has been trending upwards in most recent polling. The New York Times' FiveThirtyEight blog has Warren up by four in an average of recent polls. The blog, which uses advanced statistical modeling akin to baseball sabermetrics (think Moneyball) gives Warren an 89 percent chance of winning the election.

But Brown's got some significant energy on his side as well. He's been barnstorming the state with political luminaries like Senator John McCain and today won the Boston herald's endorsement.

So what do you think? Who has the momentum coming into the final two weeks of the election? Do the polls in liberal-leaning Massachusetts mean anything to you, or will Brown's high-profile support sway the electorate? Give us your prediction in the comments below.

Senator Brown has the momentum, and he has the experience and integrity to listen to and work for the people of MA. His record demonstrates that. He's worked to preserve jobs in the medical device industry, to create jobs and help his constituents find work through sponsoring 3 jobs fairs and getting the "Hire a Hero" legislation passed to assist our veterans find jobs. He's helped MA fisherman struggling to earn a living under oppressive regulations. He's helped women by being pro-choice and supporting equal pay, the Lilly Ledbetter Act, and the Violence Against Women Act. He's one of the most bipartisan senators in Washington--someone who will listen to both sides of an issue, see how it ultimately affects our state--its people, its businesses, and its economy--and then vote in the best interests of the people he represents. Warren will vote for spending money we do NOT have to the detriment of us all, including small businesses and entrepreneurs, thereby raising the unsistainable national debt of over $16 Trillion and continuing to mortgage away our children & grandchildren's futures. Her record is one which clearly shows a lack of credibility and an unyielding, radical ideology that would create more grid-lock in Washington than there is now. Addditionally, her far-left progressive/socialist agenda isn't what this country is all about--and will be the demise of this state and this nation if it, and its proponents, aren't defeated at the polls on November 6.

The GOP has at the heart of its agenda the destruction of the middle class, and have nearly succeeded. If given the opportunity they will surely be the demise of this great country. We have always flourished when the middle class flourished. Take a look at the tax proposals being put forward by the GOP and think carefully about who they help. In no uncertain terms, it is the upper class who stand to benefit. Trickle down economics doesn't help the middle class. The GOP must be defeated on Nov 6 or this country will return to a course headed toward ruin. Indeed our children and grandchildren's futures are at stake.

BAV you are sadly mistaken. Mrs Warren is a card carrying socialist. Their goal is the destruction of our way of life. Go to the socialist website. Mrs Warren recites their agenda every time she opens her mouth. It can't be a mistake! She is too smart not to know what she is doing. Her job is to defeat a veteran who is a family man with the same wife for many years, 2 gorgeous successful daughters and a love for the democracy that is America. What does she have? A few tired phrases and attacks and lies about Sen Brown. I think the choice is clear. Sen Brown should be re-elected.

Once the "socialist" card is thrown around, you know that the discussion is over and that we are now on to the faux GOP talking points. Sad that so many people believe these lies, but you can fool some of the people all of the time. Nothing new to see here. Indeed the choice is clear. Warren should be elected.

Warren is a fraud and should not only not get elected but should be fired from her part time teaching job at Harvard. Just because a candidate has a D next to their name it doesn't mean they can do no wrong.Your candidate is a proven liar and it's so sad you will believe her because of that big D.
