Winchester Town Election Information

The last day to register to vote for the town elections is March 9.

On March 29, Winchester voters will head to the polls for the Town Elections.

The lone competitive race on the ballot is for one seat on the . Incumbent Brian O’Connor faces two challenges to his seat. Winchester Police Detective, Douglas Wilkinson, will be running in his first election, while Douglas Marmon, former Chair of the Finance Committee and current Capital Planning Committee member, will also be running for the selectmen position. 

The other crucial decision voters will make on the March ballot will be a The town faces a projected $3 million budget deficit for Fiscal Year 2012.

For those looking to vote in the upcoming town elections, March 9 is the last day to register to vote..

According to Town Clerk, Mary Ellen Lannon, Unites States citizens who will be 18-years-old or older by March 29 and who are not already registered to vote in Winchester, may register to vote in person at the Town Clerk’s Office, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.

On Wednesday, March 9 the Town Clerk’s office hours will be extended until 8 p.m. for voter registration. Voter registration forms are available at the Post Office and the Winchester Public Library and may be mailed in as long as they are postmarked no later then March 9.

You can call the office at 781-721-7130 to have a form mailed to you.

Lannon said that absentee ballots for the will be available for voters who expect to be out of town on March 29 or who are not able to get to the polls because of physical disabilities.

Voters may apply to have a ballot mailed to them, or they may vote in person at the Office of the Town Clerk up until noon on March 28.
