Wright-Locke Closing Extended to September

Abbott Real Estate was granted an extension on the closing to September 30.

The Board of Selectmen has granted the Abbott Real Estate Development, LLC an extension on the closing for their purchase of a portion of Wright-Locke Farm until Sept 30.

The Abbott group is planning for the construction of 62 units of age-restricted housing on the site. The closing was originally scheduled July 20, but Abbott's Manager, James McAuliffe, informed the town they would not be able to meet that deadline.

McAuliffe indicated to the town that the Abbott group intends to pay all the Town's expenses from the original closing date of June 1 throught Dec. 31.

The Board plans to watch closely and suport Abbott's attempt in trying finish the deal, however they will also use this time to come up with an alternative plan in case Abbott is unable to close at the end of September.
