Winchester Home, Condo Sales Up in 2012

Condominium sales in Winchester saw a nearly 22 percent increase in 2012 compared to 2011. Meanwhile, the sale of single-family homes in Winchester increased by 14.36 percent in 2012 compared to the previous year. 

As for December 2012, Winchester condo sales saw a spike of nearly 67 percent compared to 2011. Winchester home sales increased 40 percent in December 2012 compared to the previous year.

According to the recent figures from The Warren Group, a combined 301 condos and single-family homes sold in Winchester in 2012, compared to 259 in 2011. The year finished strong in Winchester in 2012, with 21 homes sold in December compared to 15 in December 2011. Meanwhile, there were five condos sold in Winchester in December 2012 compared to three during the same time period in the previous year.

Meanwhile, the median sale price of a single-family home in Winchester was down 5.39 percent from $739,900 in 2011 to $700,000 in 2012. However, condo median sale prices in Winchester were up 16.44 percent from $381,750 in 2011 to $444,500 in 2012.

In Massachusetts, 2012 was "the best year on record since 2006" for single-family home sales, according to The Warren Group.
