Winchester Home Sales Up in June

Find out how home and condo sales fared for Winchester in June.

Winchester home and condominium sales increased in June, according to the latest data by The Warren Group. 

Forty-two homes were sold in Winchester in June compared to 41 sold in June of 2012, which is nearly a 2.44 percent increase. Year-to-date Winchester home sales are also up over last year's numbers, as 118 homes have been sold this year compared to 100 in 2012.

Home sale prices increased in June in Winchester. The average Winchester home sold for $799,500 in June, up from $759,700 in 2012.

Statewide single-family home sales increased one percent in June. A total of 5,591 homes were sold in June, an increase of more than 5,500 in 2012. Second quarter home sales saw an increase of 2.2 percent. A total of 13,915 homes were sold in the first half of the year, up nearly 300 over last year's numbers.

"The housing market continues to boom locally, and nationally," said The Warren Group CEO Timothy M. Warren, Jr in a press statement. "As long as mortgage rates and home prices don't spike too high, we'll see a very strong recovery year for the market in 2013."

Condo Sales Up in June

Condo sales increased significantly in June in Winchester. Seventeen Winchester condos were sold in June compared to four in the same month of 2012, representing a 325 percent increase. Winchester condo sales in the first half of the year have increased by more than 41 percent, with 48 sold in the first half of 2013 compared to 34 during the same time period last year. 

Meanwhile, Winchester condo sale prices dropped by more than 41 percent in June, with the average home selling for $390,000 compared to $665,000 in June of 2012. The average Winchester condo sale price in the first six months this year have also decreased by nearly 34 percent, from $565,750 in 2012 to $375,000 this year.
