Confused About the January Override Question?

CONFUSED ABOUT THE JANUARY OVERRIDE QUESTION?

The League of Women Voters of Winchester will be conducting a tour and information session about the override question that Winchester residents will vote on in January.  Residents will be asked whether or not to approve construction of a new Vinson-Owen Elementary School. The vote will take place on January 11, 2011, in order to take possible advantage of the cost-sharing proposal from the Massachusetts School Building Authority, which is contingent upon a debt-exclusion override.

Voters wishing to get more information about this override question should meet at the Vinson-Owen School, 75 Johnson Road, Winchester, at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 9, 2011 for a brief tour of the building.  At 2:45 there will be a panel presentation led by League Steering Committee member Susan Verdicchio.  Panel members will be William McAlduff, superintendent of Winchester Public Schools; Sarah Girotti, chair of the Winchester School Committee; and Tom Howley, chair of the Winchester Board of Selectmen.  After their presentations, the panel members will take questions from the audience.  Hot chocolate and light refreshments will be served.
