Senior's Literary Lunch

Once again, the popular Literary Lunch will begin on Thursday, October 6, at 11:30 at the Jenks Center. The Winchester Cooperative Bank has agreed to support this program for the next year. Each month McCall sixth graders and Jenks Center seniors read a book selected by the McCall School Librarian. It is then discussed by the students and seniors at the Literary Lunch. This is a fun and interesting time.

Join us on October 6 at the Jenks when we discuss The Legend of Bass Reeves by Gary Paulson. This is the story of Bass Reeves, a runaway slave who lived as a fugitive among the Creek Indians for 22 years. When the Emancipation Proclamation freed him, he became a cattle rancher in Arkansas, and then, appointed as a federal marshal, helped bring order to the Indian Territory.

Books are available in the Jenks Center Office.
