Talk on Housing for Adults with Disabilities

Catherine Boyle will be speaking on "Thinking about housing for your adult child with a disability" this Monday evening, Oct. 4, at 7 pm in the McCall Middle School library.

The talk is hosted by the Winchester Special Education Parent Advisory Council and the Winchester Disability Access Commission. I know this issue affects some of you directly, while others may be interested in learning about this impending silent crisis.

Nationally, there are already 88,000 adults with disabilities on waiting lists for housing. But there are 1.2 million people under age 22 with autism alone. Few Americans realize the extent of this coming wave, but it will affect us all.
