Photo Gallery: Vinson-Owen Students Skate to Honor Family

In honor of the Vinson-Owen family, students headed to Stoneham to pay their respects.

Fifty years ago, the family of Winchester, along with the rest of the 1961 US Oympic figure skating team, died in a plane crash. Shortly after the death of the family, Sherman "Whip" Saltmarsh named the new elementary school after the Vinson-Owen's, who lived on High Street.

Last Thursday night, , along with the other members of the U.S. national team, were honored in a of the documentary – RISE.
