Strong Sachems Still Looking for Improvement [VIDEO]

Wrestling team beats Wilmington, 75-3, but is still not satisfied.

Larry Tremblay didn't sound like a coach whose team had just polished off a 75-3 road victory. But with bigger goals in mind, the Winchester wrestling mentor doesn't want his title contending team to get complacent.

The Sachems dominated Wilmington from start to finish on Wednesday, earning 10 pins against undermatched Wildcat foes.

But Tremblay, whose squad is now 9-1 on the year and undefeated against Massachusetts competition, said he still hasn't seen what he's looking for out of his wrestlers.

"The expectation is to continue to wrestle strong. I just don't think that we have some of the mental and physical toughness that we've had in years past, and hopefully we can try to build on that by wrestling a tough schedule. Steel sharpens steel, so hopefully we can be there by the end."

Wilmington head coach Michael Pimental's team is young and inexperieced. Still, the mentor said his team will only get better while absorbing blows from top teams like Winchester.

"This is the competition you want to emulate," said Pimental. "It's wrestling against teams like this that is going to set the bar. They don't know where the bar is going to be standing for them if they don't see teams like this."
