When is the First Day of School for Winchester Public Schools?

Wondering when the first day of school will be for the 2013-2014 school year for Winchester Public Schools? If so, Patch has you covered.

New staff orientation will take place on Aug. 28, according to the Winchester Public Schools 2013-2014 calendar. The first day of school for teachers is Sept. 3, and if there are no snow days their last day is set for June 19, 2014.

Meanwhile, the first day of school for students is Sept. 4, and barring any school cancellations the last day is currently slated for June 18, 2014.

Here are the school hours and early release dismissal times in Winchester:

School Hours

Ambrose, Lynch Schools:
  • Grades 1-5: 8:45 a.m.-2:50 p.m.
  • Kindergarten: 8:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • Early release: 11:45 a.m.
Lincoln, Muraco, Vinson-Owens Schools: 
  • Grades 1-5: 8:30 a.m.-2:35 p.m.
  • Kindergarten: 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
  • Early release: 11:30 a.m.
McCall Middle, Winchester High Schools:
  • School hours: 7:45 a.m.-2:15 p.m.
  • Early release: 11:10 a.m.

First Day Schedule (Sept. 4)

  • Grades 1-5: Early Release 
  • Grades 6 & 9: 7:45-10:40 a.m. 
  • Grades 7-8, 10-12: 11:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m. 
  • Pre-kindergarten & Kindergarten: Individual Schedule
