WHS Teams Open MIAA Tournament Play This Week

Find out when Winchester High School's teams play this week.

Winchester High School will begin play in their Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) tournaments this week, with the girls' hockey team playing Monday night, according to the MIAA website.

In the North Division 2 tournament, the no. 21 ranked Winchester (10-9-1) girls' hockey squad takes on no. 12 ranked Burlington (11-7-0) at 8:10 p.m. Monday in Burlington. The winner advances to the second round to play no. 5 ranked Gardner (11-4-2). A time and location for the second-round tilt have yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, the no. 13 ranked Winchester High boys' basketball team, which had a regular season record of 11-9, plays no. 4 ranked Salem (15-5) at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Salem in the North Division 2 tournament. The winner from the preliminary round game will take on either no. 5 ranked Brighton (15-6) or no. 12 ranked Burlington (11-9) at a time and place to be determined.
