Winchester High Plays Burlington in Boys' Hockey Finals Monday Night

The no. 2 ranked Winchester High School boys' hockey team squares off with defending champion and no. 5 seed Burlington in the Division 1 North finals at 8 p.m. Monday at Tsongas Arena in Lowell, according to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) website.

Winchester (16-5-3), which had a bye in the first round of the MIAA tournament, beat no. 7 Wakefield 6-5 in overtime in the quarterfinals at Stoneham Arena March 3. In the semifinals, Winchester bested no. 6 Waltham 4-2 at Chelmsford Forum in North Billerica March 7.

Meanwhile, Burlington (11-5-5) had a bye in the first round before beating no. 4 Woburn 4-2 in the quarterfinals at Chelmsford Forum March 3. In the semifinals, Burlington blanked no. 9 Melrose 3-0 at Chelmsford Forum March 7.

Burlington is looking to repeat as Division 1 North champs after winning the title last year.
