Breaking Free Sports & Arts Camp

It’s not too early to SAVE THE DATE for this year’s Sports & Arts Camp sponsored by Winchester’s Hope Christian Church.  

BREAKING FREE is the theme for this summer’s camp, which will be held at Ambrose  Elementary  School, Monday July 25 through Friday July  29, from 4:00p.m. - 7:15p.m.  Children ages 4-12 are welcome to attend and can sign up for one of the following tracks:

• Team 45 (skill and movement activities for children ages 4 and 5)
• Art (ages 6-12)
• Music/Drama (ages 6-12)
• Cheering (ages 6-12)
• Soccer (ages 6-12)
• Flag Football (ages 8-12)
• Basketball (ages 8-12)

Qualified, trained volunteers from Hope Christian Church team up with staff from UW Sports Ministry (www.uwsportsministry.org) to provide a safe, wholesome, and memorable learning experience for all who attend.

The UW coaches who lead the individual sport tracks are college and post college athletes proficient in their particular field of expertise.  Experienced leaders in the art and music/drama fields from Hope  Christian Church develop and implement  new curriculums for these two tracks each year, tying in the camp’s  theme with what the campers  are learning in the arts. A light snack is provided for the campers.

In addition to the skills and lessons learned on the fields and in the classrooms, all campers learn about people from real life  and from the Bible who BREAK FREE from attitudes, behaviors, and relationships that hinder them from being all that they are meant to be. These lessons are reinforced through skits, small group interaction, singing, new friendships, and more!

 This is the third year HCC is sponsoring  a sports/arts camp and  we look forward to another wonderful  week this summer  for children in Winchester and the surrounding communities.  As one camper last year  put it, “Mom, I wish it was all day long!  It was awesome!”
