The Sachems (8-0) continued their remarkable run with a 5-0 win over Woburn, the program's 100th victory in a row. The streak, which spans four state championships, started before any of the current players were even in high school.

"It speaks mostly just to the talent that we've been fortunate to have on the team," coach Paul Sughrue said. "We traditionally have pretty deep teams and to put together a streak like that you need it all the way down one to seven."

The biggest competition in the Middlesex League will be Lexington, who the Sachems meet again on Wednesday.

"It's been fun and it's a pretty amazing streak because you really get the top teams in the state tournament and for them to continue to beat them is amazing," Sughrue said. "The goal now that that's behind us is just short term we'd love to continue to go undefeated in the league and then go deep in the state tournament."
