Winchester Recreation Offering Sunday Night Lights Flag Football League

The following information was supplied by Jim Sullivan, Program Coordinator for the Town of Winchester Recreation Department.

Winchester Recreation: Sunday Night Lights Flag Football League (Grades K – 8)

The mission of this program is to provide the youth of Winchester with an opportunity to experience the positive social and athletic benefits of flag football.  The main focus of this program will be on having fun, while learning and playing the great game of flag football in a safe environment. Each week participants will learn about physical activity and the proper skills required to play the game while developing character and sportsmanship are also top priorities.

There will be practice time before each game. This time will enable coaches to work on skills and schemes that will be used in games. Teams will consist of 8-10 players and in the interest of keeping teams balanced, no team requests will be honored. A game shirt and a mouth guard will be provided to each participant. Mouth guards must be worn by all players at all times. To register online, visit www.winrec.com and search Sunday Night Lights.
