Winchester Town Day Postponed

Because of the threat of rain, the Winchester Town Day has been moved to Sunday.

The Winchester Town Day Committee announced it will postpone Town Day till Sunday because of the predicted rainfall to come Saturday.

"Based on the general agreement among many weather reports that a day-long rain and wind event will begin tomorrow morning. (We sure hope they are correct!) the Committee has decided to postpone the Saturday Town Day events until Sunday June 3rd, our published Rain Date," the committee said in a news release.

The Friday night block party featuring Ben Rudnick and Friends will still proceed as scheduled beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Mt. Vernon Street from Converse Place to Washington Street will be closed from 5:30 to 10 tonight.

The Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at  Saturday as scheduled.

"While we recognize that this in an inconvenience for many, we think the risk of substantial rain beginning just after everyone has set up, would be a far worse alternative," the Town Day Committee said.

The following streets will be closed Sunday till 5 p.m.

  • Mt. Vernon Street from the rotary to Washington Street
  • Main Street from the rotary to Mystic Valley Parkway
  • Thompson Street
  • Laraway Road
  • Converse Place

You can view  that will be moved to Sunday.

Updated Friday 10:30 p.m.: The  will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday during Town Day instead of Saturday. Susane Colasanti will no longer be at the event.
