The Boys & Girls Club is a wonderful alternative for families who want fun, safe activities for their kids without spending a lot of money. Their swim lessons are, wait for it, FREE, though you do have to stand in line for a long time the first time you registerd. (You do need a club membership, which is something like $25 a year). Their dance lessons? Also FREE. And the dancers have so much fun without the stress of a studio program. Other activities include swim team and the popular basketball program.
They also rent out the space for pool or other parties. We've lived in a nearby town for 15 years and just found out all the good things available for kids this year.
