The arrests came after Winchester Police obtained a search warrant for an Everett residence, as officers searched the premises for a laptop computer stolen from a Winchester business.
A pair of Everett men and an Everett woman have been arraigned on several drug and gun charges, including possession of a gun that was reported stolen from a Chelsea District Court evidence locker in November 2011, according to a press statement from Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan's office. Liban Ali, 21, Jeffrey Sanon, 30, and Malensky Oscar, 21, all of Everett, were arraigned in Malden District Court on charges of possession of a high-capacity firearm (three counts each), possession of a high-capacity magazine (three counts each), unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, trafficking in cocaine over 36 grams, conspiracy to violate the drug law and receiving stolen property. Winchester native and MBTA Officer Richard Donohue Jr., who was injured in a shoot out with the Boston Marathon bombers talks about that night, his injuries and his recovery.
Winchester native and MBTA Police Officer Richard Donohue Jr. who was injured in a shoot-out night with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, continues to recover from his injuries. Last Friday the 33-year-old officer was moved from Mount Auburn Hospital to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, according to Boston.com. According to that story his recovery has entered the second phase and he will now concentrate on building strength in his legs so he can prepare to go home. During the shoot-out in Watertown, Donohue was struck in the leg and the bullet tore femoral artery, causing massive blood loss. The bullet is still in his leg. The man reportedly paid nearly $5,000 to an individual claiming to be federal tax agent and that the man owed taxes. The alleged tax agent threatened the man with deportation if he did not pay the agent $3,800 in "greendot" Moneypak pre-paid cards loaded with the money, and after the agent received the money he told the man he was mistaken and that an additional $1,000 needed to be paid in the same fashion, according to the report. A witness told police that she saw a woman speeding up Eaton to try and avoid waiting in traffic, when a dog ran out into the street and was hit by the driver before she could stop, according to the report. Winchester resident Karina Chmielewski recalls how things have gone for her since the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15.
Since the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, Winchester resident Karina Chmielewski said the month that followed has been "a physical and emotional rollercoaster." Chmielewski, who was about a half-mile away from the finish line at the marathon when the explosions went off, said she will never forget what transpired that afternoon. "The last 30 days have been a physical and emotional rollercoster," she said. "What happened on April 15 forever changed my life, my family's and friends'. More than 19,000 names of fallen law enforcement officers are etched into the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC -- and more are added every year. The keepers of the police memorial figure one law officer in the United States dies in the line of duty every 57 hours. For this year's ceremony, 321 names were added to that wall. Among them: Middlesex County Correction Officer James Callahan, Sr., who died in 1973 due to a heart attack after being assaulted by an inmate and Woburn Police Officer John P. Gibbons III, who was killed in the line of duty on May 4, 1999. Gibbons suffered a fatal heart attack after being kicked in the chest by a woman while responding to a disturbance call. The police officer shot in a manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombing suspects last month said he saw them tossing bombs out of a vehicle in the moments before he was hit.
