There's a high possibility that the Winchester High School boys' hockey team will be back in the North Division 1 title game. But that was no consolation for coach Matt Spang on Monday night. The Sachems knotted the score in the third period on a Nolan Redler tally but eventually fell, 2-1, after being outscored in a shootout by a 3-1 margin on the ice of Lowell's Tsongas Center. As a result, Winchester was eliminated while Burlington moved on to play Sunday for a second straight state championship. The Winchester High boys’ hockey team beat Arlington 3-0 Saturday at O’Brien Rink in Woburn, but it’s not the big Middlesex League win that has people talking. It’s Winchester forward Nolan Redler’s post-game interview with ESPNBoston.com’s Scott Barboza. “I just saw him go to the net, I said, ‘I gotta throw a little fettuccine alfredo out there,’ ended up hitting him in the butt and going in so, you know, it’s all you can do at this point,” Redler told Barboza on camera. “I mean it wasn’t the prettiest goal, but it got there. It all looks the same on the score sheet.” Because of Redler’s “swag,” the interview was picked up by the popular blog Barstool Sports on Monday and now has more than 38,000 views on YouTube in the last 24 hours. …
