Winton Club Producer Excited for the Show

Jean Buckley has been a Winchester resident for two decades.

The following article was submitted by Buck Locke on behalf of the Winton Club. Jean Buckley smiles a lot and bubbles over with energy as Producer of this year’s Winton Club Cabaret, “It’s About Time.”  The genesis for her theme goes back to 1999 when she was working with two other artists in a cold room on their hands and knees painting a scrim for that year’s Cabaret.  The scene they were painting had to do with clocks and over the following decade Jean distilled the concepts into this year’s theme. Time is the fourth dimension of our lives, relevant to every activity in our crazy 24/7 schedules. Jean and her husband David moved to Winchester 20 years ago. Winton Club Tambos Celebrate 40 Years

The performers are part of the Winton Club Cabaret show.

The following was submitted by Buck Locke of the Winton Club. This is the fourth decade for the Tambos in the Winton Cabaret. A wonderful tradition of local ladies bringing delight to Town Hall. Tambos are one of the highlights of the annual Winton Cabaret. Ann Bannister joined the Winton Club in 1964. The club began in 1911 to support the social welfare and health of Winchester. It was originally started to sew linen for the Cottage Hospital. The hospital moved to Highland Avenue in 1917, becoming Winchester Hospital. Beginning in 1921 the Winton Club began presenting an annual Cabaret to raise funds for the hospital.
