Reader Greg Chastain said, "South Border (Road) was shut down for some reason as they turned us around when we tried to reach I-93." Fellow reader Lauren Tavares Fogarty claimed that she "heard there was an accident by COS that caused a good deal of traffic." Winchester Residents Have Longer Commute Than Most [Poll]

A new study ranks Winchester near the bottom in the state for commute time among small cities.

Stuck in traffic a lot? You're not alone. It takes Winchester residents longer to get to work than the residents of most other small cities in Massachusetts, according to a new study. The study done by On Numbers, a Bizjournals.com blog, compiled data from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2009 American Community Survey. It awarded points for every commuter who takes less than 30 minutes to get from home to his or her job, and it took away points for every commuter above that threshold. Among the 62 cities, villages, incorporated towns and census designated places with populations between 10,000 and 50,000, Winchester ranked 51st. The study showed that nearly a third of Winchester residents—31.16 percent—take between 15 and 29 minutes to get to …
