Nine Ducklings Rescued from Winchester Storm Drain
La Patisserie employees sprung into action Friday morning to help their web-footed friend Baguette.
For five years, a duck named Baguette has come to the bushes in La Patisserie’s backyard to have her ducklings. This year, Baguette, named by the bakery’s chef/owner Stephen Pazyra, had nine ducklings. However, on Friday morning, Baguette and her ducklings were nowhere to be found. Two La Patisserie employees, Joevana Gilbert and Marylin Plank, eventually heard Baguette and the dad quacking away near the train station and went to go check on them. There, they found that all of Baguette’s nine ducklings had fallen into a storm drain and were trapped.
