Things to do in the Snow Around Winchester

With the end of the year blizzard hitting this Christmas, here's some things you can do around town.

If snow is good for one thing and one thing only, it's sledding. There are three popular places in town to get your sled on. The first is over on 42 Lockeland Road right across from the fire station, Mullen Field. Mullen has a big hill and lots of space for building snowmen and drawing snow angels. Around the corner and down the street, Vinson-Owen Elementary School, also has a large hill that offers plenty of room for dozens of sledders. Lastly, the most popular hill in town has to the one located at Ambrose Elementary, expect big crowds and lots of first time sledders. Winchester also has a great place to strap on a pair of skates.
