Will you adopt this friendly cat?
My name is Winter, but I am not the least bit like that season. I am all spring, sweet and happy and loving, the kind of kitty who will sit on your lap and purr and purr. The kind of girl who likes to be scratched, rubbed, and petted in all those good cat spots (ears, chin, neck, etc.). In this very cold end of January, I am a tiger who will bring a lot of warmth into your home. Did I say tiger? Not a real one silly! I am actually a torbie because of my range of colors (orange, brown, grey, cream) mixed with tiger stripes. Did I mention I am young? Maybe 8 months old. Some would say that is an awkward age, stuck between childhood and adulthood. But I would say it is the perfect age. I have all the energy and fun of a kitten, but I am …

Will you adopt this sweet cat?
Striker is Goofy and Fun, with Movie Star Charisma Striker is my name, but sweetness is my game. That is right, I am a beautiful, adorable, handsome, sweet, funny, and loads of fun. Oh, I am also a very modest guy, so I won’t toot my own horn. I will just let you look at my pictures. I can be goofy, or serious, or very chill as you can see. That is me, all me. Ok, I am not a small guy. But hey, there is lots of me to love. I like my kibble and I like it often. I will sit, patiently shifting my weight from right to left and squinting my eyes at you until you get the message and give me a treat. I want your attention, true. But, I want that treat even more, thank you very much. I also love, love, love to be held. If you pick me up, I will …

Will you adopt this friendly feline?
Hi everyone. My name is Fudgecicle, but you can call me Fudge, for short. As you can see, I am not a good speller. But I think I got my name because I am all brown like the frozen treat called a fudgesicle. Or maybe it was because I am extremely sweet, if a bit fuzzy. I am also quite unique with my medium-length, fine hair with no undercoat. You will be amazed by how soft and silky I am. Besides my beauty (and let’s not discount that), I am a very easy kitty to have around. I can be initially cautious, and will most likely hide in a new environment or around new people. But you can pull me out of my hiding spot and I won’t even complain. Once I feel safe (give me ten or so minutes), I will be ready to meet you and show you my playful and …

Sequoia the cat is looking for a new home—could it be yours?
PAWS (Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society) is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization serving several communities north of Boston. Look at me under the Christmas tree! With a name like Sequoia, I think I should have been photographed under my own tree. But, of course, sequoia trees grow mostly in California, and I am definitely a Massachusetts cat. I was found in Reading and rescued by PAWS with the help of a very nice lady who was feeding me. I wish my previous owners had kept me in the house so I would not have gotten lost. But I do consider myself one lucky cat to be spending the holidays inside. The only thing that would make me happier would be to be with a forever family of my own. As I said, I was found …

Lifelong Winchester resident, Charlotte Fazio, is helping animals find a home through PAWS.
At one time Charlotte Fazio had 13 cats wondering through her home. That number has since dwindled down to seven. “That’s the limit,” said Fazio. She and her husband had always owned at least one cat, but the lifelong Winchester resident never expected to have more than a couple cats roaming her halls. About a year ago, Fazio, who has always been an animal-lover, wanted to try and give back, to help animals in need. A friend introduced her to the Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society (PAWS) and for the past 12 months she has been one of the organization’s strongest members. “I like animals and I wanted to help,” Fazio said. PAWS is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization serving communities north of Boston. According …
