A Winchester resident recently spent a week working with Habitat for Humanity as part of Providence College's Alternative Spring Break 2013 program, according to a press statement by the college. Bridget Hickey, a member of the class of 2015 at Providence College, was among more than 230 Providence College students who volunteered to spend their spring break working at Habitat home sites in 16 locations in the United States, according to the statement. The students participated through the Habitat campus chapter at Providence College, which is sponsored by the chaplain's office, reads the statement. Hickey worked on a home project in Georgetown, Del., according to the statement.

Patrick O'Donnell, of Winchester, has been named to the Dean's List at Providence College for the fall 2012 semester.
A Winchester native recently made the Dean's List at a Rhode Island college, according to a press statement. Patrick O'Donnell, of Winchester, has been named to the Dean's List at Providence College for the fall 2012 semester, reads the statement. O'Donnell is a member of the class of 2015, the statement adds. A full-time undergraduate student must have achieve at least a 3.55 grade point average (GPA) with a minimum of 12 credits, according to the statement.

The following Winchester residents were among 150 students in Providence College's Class of 2016 who spent their first days of college participating in the College's 22nd annual Urban Action program in August: • Jenna DiTullio • Lauren Pedulla The freshmen, along with 25 upperclassmen leaders, volunteered at an historic park in Providence, and at sites in Kent and Newport counties in Rhode Island. In Providence at Neutaconkanut Hill Park, students painted rails, built a kiosk, prepped a meadow for an upcoming Philharmonic concert, and spread wood chips on multiple trails. In Middletown, they cleaned up walking trails and coastal areas at Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge. In East Greenwich, at Pat's Pastured Farm, students cleared …
