Griffin Museum Celebrates 100 Years of Fenway Park

Twenty years of the Griffin Museum of Photography and 100 years of Fenway Park celebrated with two unique exhibits.

  Think back to the first time you ever stepped foot in Fenway Park. Imagine that breath taking moment in time when you first laid eyes on the field, The Green Monster, Pesky’s Pole and the big score board underneath the big lights. That moment is one that has stopped generations of Americans and baseball fans from all over the world in their tracks. Fenway Park embodies the faith, tradition and loyalty of a self-defined “nation” of believers. The Griffin Museum is celebrating both the 100-year anniversary of Fenway Park as well as the 20-year anniversary of the Museum. The museum is celebrating America’s most beloved ballpark with two exhibhits for baseball lovers to conjure up memories, stories and impressions from this landmark. Fenway …

Week in Review: Red Sox Camp and Freight Trains

Check out some of the top stories from Winchester last week.

The Boston Red Sox recently announced the schedule for their second annual Red Sox Baseball Summer Camps that will begin in late June. One of those weeks, from July 16-20, the Red Sox Camp will be held at Winchester High School. Freight trains have begun stopping at Tighe Trucking in Winchester, making deliveries. According to Winchester resident Susan Busher, the first freight train rolled into town last week. She said that the cars idled next to Tighe Trucking for about an hour before residents spoke with the conductor who said they were there to pick up a box car. Thomas Mortimer, IV, has told the court that he deserves a publicly paid for defense attorney, but the state wants him to pay with his children's college fund account, …

Red Sox to Hold Baseball Camp in Winchester

The Red Sox will be in town from July 16 - 20.

Pitchers and catchers aren't scheduled to report in Florida until Sunday, but it's never too early to start talking about the baseball season. And this summer Winchester could see some Red Sox players visiting town. The Sox recently announced the schedule for their second annual Red Sox Baseball Summer Camps that will begin in late June. One of those weeks, from July 16-20, the Red Sox Camp will be held at Winchester High School. “We feel this is an excellent opportunity to help the youth in the greater Boston area to learn and play the game we all love,” said Boston Red Sox President Larry Lucchino in a press release. Boston Red Sox Camps will provide area youth between the ages of 5 and 13 with on-field instruction and games beginning …
