Yvonne Coleman Retires from Winchester Public Library
The Winchester Public Library honored their Head of Children's Services, Yvonne Coleman, for her 19 and a half years of dedicated service.
The Winchester Public Library honored long-time Head of Children's Services Librarian, Yvonne Coleman. The ceremony was held in the children's reading room, a place Yvonne has called home for the past two decades. Well-wishers were streaming in to give Yvonne a hug or a small present and thank her for her service. Yvonne was responsible for several innovations in recent years. One popular change were Book Boxes, sets of 8-10 similarly themed books that teachers or parents can take out as one singular item. She was also credited with energizing the summer reading program with inventive nature themes like stuffed animal sleep overs and understanding domestic and exotic pets.
