Sheriff Koutoujian Introduces Senior Citizen Program

The TRIAD program focuses on empowering senior citizens to recognize fraudulent behavior.

Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian visited Winchester on Wednesday to meet with seniors at the Jenks Center where he spoke about the role of the Sheriff in the community, including his responsibility for the care and custody of inmates.  The sheriff spoke about educational and vocational programs put in place at the Middlesex House of Correction that provide inmates with opportunities to better themselves and learn skills that can help them be productive members of society following their release.  Koutoujian also discussed the Community Work Program which allows minimum security inmates who pass a rigorous screening process the opportunity to participate in community works projects in cities and towns across the county. Sheriff Koutoujian Visits Winchester

The sheriff will introduce a new program that benefits senior citizens.

Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian is stopping by the Jenks Center today to visit with Winchester senior citizens. The sheriff will join Ruth Young of the Winchester Council on Aging and Town Manager Richard Howard at 1 p.m. to discuss the department's new TRIAD Program and the sheriff's role in the community. The program focuses on empowering senior citizens to recognize fraudulent behavior by hosting educational events and providing tips and resources on how seniors can stay safe and avoid being the object of criminal behavior.
