Resident Receives Prestigious Health Award

Cheryl Sbarra received an award for her concern for the advancement of public health programs to the benefit of citizens.

Cheryl Sbarra, J.D., director of Tobacco Control Program and Senior Staff Attorney for the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards Tobacco Control Program was recently awarded the Curtis M. Hilliard Award at the Massachusetts Health Officers Association Annual Educational Conference. Sbarra is a resident of Winchester. This award is in honor of the late Curtis Hilliard, one of the founders of the Metropolitan Health Officers Association. He was health supervisor for Wellesley, Needham and Weston from 1926 to 1956. He was recognized with honors from the Massachusetts Health Officers Association, American Public Health Association, and Massachusetts Public Health Association.
