Police believe that 19-year-old Taylor A. Goulding is connected to seven recent armed robberies in Winchester, Melrose, Stoneham, Woburn and Reading.
Stoneham Police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with seven recent armed robberies in the area—including a Nov. 5 robbery at the Dairy Barn on Main Street in Winchester—police announced in a press release on Thursday morning. Taylor A. Goulding of Stoneham is charged with two counts of armed robbery while being masked and one count of attempted armed robbery while being masked for the three robberies that occurred in Stoneham on Oct. 30 at DB Mart, Nov. 1 at Sunset Tanning and Nov. 11 at C-Store. There was a nighttime armed robbery at the Dairy Barn in Winchester.
Five armed robberies have occurred recently at a Winchester business and Stoneham area businesses. Police said they believe the suspect in each case is the same person. Since Oct. 30, five armed robberies—including one at the DB Mart convenience store and another at Sunset Tanning in Stoneham—have taken place in the area, including one in Melrose, Winchester and Woburn, according to investigators. A vehicle rolled over on Highland Avenue around 2 p.m.
Three people were transported to area hospitals after an accident in Winchester. A vehicle rolled over on Highland Avenue at Englewood Road just before 2 p.m., according to scanner reports. Emergency vehicles arrived on scene just minutes later where additional rescue personnel was requested. Two individuals were transported to the Massachusetts General Hospital with advanced life support, according to scanner reports, and one to Winchester Hospital right down the road with basic life support. An investigation of a three-alarm fire which destroyed a Winchester home in May said there isn't enough evidence to support the fire was intentionally set.
The cause of a three-alarm fire at a Copley Street home in May was concluded to be "undetermined" by the State Fire Marshal. "The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office has determined that there is insufficient evidence that the fire at this address was intentionally set," said the district attorney spokeswoman, Stephanie Chelf Guyotte. Fire investigators said in a June report the fire was started on the front porch close to the front doors, which remained intact and closed. He said an aged, dry holiday wreath on the porch caused sufficient fuel to ignite the siding of the house and surrounding surfaces. Daily parking tickets will not be allowed in the lower Aberjona Parking Lot.
The lower Aberjona Parking Lot is making a switch to required permits today as part of the town's parking plan. Starting today, if cars do not have a parking permit for the lower Aberjona Lot near the Winchester Center train station, they will be subject to ticketing by the Winchester Police Department. Residents can purchase a permit for $125 per quarter, and those recieved now will be valid through Dec. 31, 2012. Residents must apply for a permit at the Winchester Engineering Department in Town Hall during 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Thursday, Sept. 6 4:09 p.m.: A York Road resident reported Thursday, Sept. 6, that a pile of scrap metal had been stolen from outside his house sometime in the last three days. Wednesday, Sept. 5 3:44 p.m.: A Washington Street resident told police Wednesday, Sept. 5, that a “customer service representative” from a “telemarketing company” had just said inappropriate things to her over the phone. The woman said that she has been receiving the same automated call at least once a week for four years offering her a credit service for outstanding debt. Winchester police worked with the Stoneham Police Department to locate two suspects involved in breaking into vehicles. Stoneham police were called to Benton Street for a report of a breaking and entering in progress at approxiamtely 4:18 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug.22. The caller reported three kids in all black clothing checking motor vehicles parked in the street, according to police reports. Officers apprehended one of the suspects who confirmed he and the two others were breaking into vehicles, according to police. Police then broadcasted over area wide stations for a K9 unit, and State Police K9 unit responded. Monday, Aug. 20 10:30 p.m.: A burglary was reported on Thursday, June 28 at a Grove Place residence in the White Horse Commons. The 42-year-old resident said she entered her unlocked home which was locked when she left for work and discovered the screen in the study was pushed in with the window slightly ajar, according to the report. She also told the officers the jewelry from her jewelry box was missing. A print, which appeared to be from a gloved finger, was on the top of the box. The inspector reported pry marks on French doors in the rear, but everything else appeared to be in order. This unit is the last one in the complex on a dead end, and the window faces the woods. Friday, Aug. 17 8:19 a.m.: Two political yard signs were vandalized on a home on Stevens Street. A support for U.S. Rep. Scott Brown was twisted and folded, and a support for State Rep. candidate George Georgountzos sign was ripped off the metal stand and missing, according to reports. The officer said he was unsure if the act was mischief or someone disagreeing with the signs. 11:55 a.m.: A Winchester police officer killed a raccoon that was deemed sick by an Animal Control officer. The raccoon was in the backyard of a Thornberry Road home.
