Dozens of vendors will be displaying their wares when Mahoney's second annual Winter Market kicks off Saturday morning at the Garden Center located at 242 Cambridge St. The Winter Market, which opens Jan. 12, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday until March 16, according to a Mahoney's Garden Center press statement. Local farmers, artisans and other area businesses will be selling their products, including root vegetables, herbs, fruits, cheeses, meats, seafood, baked breads, desserts, and olive oils, plus select jewelry and clothing, according to the statement. With only two days left, the Winchester Field Development Council is working hard to reach its $711,000 goal. WFDC President Paul Manganaro said the phone bank had a great night last week. As of Tuesday, a total of $47,330 in donations was collected by the WFDC phone bank: $32,330 collected and $15,000 in phone bank matching gifts. “This is outstanding and will go a long way toward us reaching our goal,” Manganaro said. Mahoney’s Garden Center hosted a fundraiser June 15 that resulted in a $5,000 donation toward to the project. The WFDC needs to raise $711,000 in private funds by June 30 to complete Phase II of the Manchester Field Renovation Project. Mahoney’s Garden Center is stepping in to help the Winchester Field Development Council raise money for the Manchester Field Renovation Project. The garden center will donate 10 percent of all proceeds from this Friday to WFDC. Also, mention you support the WFDC and receive free delivery on purchases of $200 or more. The WFDC needs to raise $711,000 in private funds by June 30 to complete Phase II of the Manchester Field Project, said WFDC President Paul Manganaro. "To date we have raised roughly $635,000 for Phase II leaving about $76,000 more before we hit our goal," he said.
