The Winchester High School girls’ hockey team lost to Woburn High School, 9-1, Saturday night at the O’Brien Ice Rink in Woburn. The Sachems were trailing 4-0 with nearly one minute remaining in the first. Woburn sophomore Kayla Smith netted the Tanners’ first goal with a straight shot at 11:12, with assists from senior captain Colleen Martell and sophomore Cassandra Connolly. At 7:07, Smith scored unassisted, making the team's and her second goal. Throughout the first period, Woburn controlled the puck were able to gain the offensive zone frequently. The Winchester High School boys’ hockey team lost to Woburn High School, 2-0, in an evenly aggressive match Saturday night at a packed and rowdy O’Brien Ice Rink in Woburn. After a scoreless first period, the game was intensifying at the start of the second. “First period was kind of probably a wash for both teams because it seemed like there was no puck out there,” Woburn coach Jim Duran said. “There was a lot of emotion with our team, with them getting their new jerseys and with our team with the boy (Joseph E.
