Locals Show Support for Injured MBTA Officer, Winchester Native

Richard Donohue, of Woburn, was injured in the Watertown gunfight early Friday morning during the hunt for the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

There has been an outpouring of support, thoughts and prayers for Winchester native and MBTA Police Officer Richard "Dic" Donohue Jr., who was injured during a Thursday night shoot-out with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. Donohue, 33, who recently moved to Woburn with his wife and 7-month-old son. He has been a member of the MBTA Transit Police for three years. MSBA Moves Winchester High School Project to Schematic Design Phase

Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) officials announced Wednesday that the Board of Directors approved moving the Winchester High School project to the Schematic Design phase.

Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) officials announced Wednesday that the Board of Directors approved moving the Winchester High School project to the Schematic Design phase, according to a press statement. As part of the Schematic Design phase, the MSBA will continue to work with the district to better understand costs associated with the project scope, reads the statement. The next step is for the MSBA to work in collaboration with the district to produce detailed designs, adds the statement. “I am delighted to move forward with this proposed project,” State Treasurer Steve Grossman said in the statement. “The schematic design phase is another step towards fulfilling the educations aspirations of Winchester’s children.” …

Oh, yeah, very reassuring. What about the constant flooding of the basement? How is this going to be addressed. The building needs to be razed and new one with a proper foundation (raised) and a better layout built. 'Alice in Fashionland' Show a Hit at Winchester High [PHOTOS, VIDEO]

Check out images from the "Alice in Fashionland" show at Winchester High School Thursday night in the Auditorium.

Several dozen turned out for the "Alice in Fashionland" show Thursday night at Winchester High School in the Auditorium. The fashion show, based off the classic tale "Alice in Wonderland," served as a fundraiser for the high school art department. Admission to the show cost $5 for students and $10 for adults. The designs were inspired by the 1951 film "Alice in Wonderland" as well as Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" released in 2010.
