Officer Dic Donohue Celebrates Gift of Life

Officer Dic Donohue celebrated the holiday season with the greatest gift of all: His life, his health and his family, according to the Herald. The MBTA Transit Officer nearly lost his life when he took a bullet to the leg during the Watertown gun battle with the brothers Tsarneav.

Donohue has been able to drive, hit the gym, walk his pet beagle and play with his son.

According to the Herald, Donohue has almost no memory of the night of April 18 when he nearly bled out from the gunshot wound. He spent the next 28 days in Mount Auburn Hospital before heading out to Spaulding Rehab and returned home on June 14.
