Car, Bike and Camera Reported Stolen in Police Logs for Oct. 5 to Oct. 7

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department.

4 p.m., Oct. 5: Officers responded to a report of a larceny at 10 Converse Place. The caller told police that a client had just stolen a camera. Security footage clearly showed a woman seated on a couch look around and take a Nikon D5100 Camera valued at about $2,000. The caller had the client’s information and told police that they tried to contact them with no luck. The officer contacted the suspect and told her to bring the camera down to the Winchester Police Station. The suspect came down to the station a few hours later, returned the camera and told police that she was sorry for acting on an impulse. The caller did not want to press charges.

6:05 p.m., Oct. 6: Officers responded to a report of a stolen bicycle at about 4:30 p.m. The caller rode their bike to Winchester High School at about 7:40 a.m. on Thursday and secured it to the bike rack. The caller returned to the bike rack on Friday morning and the bike was gone. The bike is estimated at $429. This investigation is ongoing.

11:23 p.m., Oct. 6: Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at Winchester Hospital. The caller reported that they had parked their car on Valley Road, near Highland Avenue at about 3 p.m.. The caller told police that their 1997 Nissan Maxima was locked. This investigation is ongoing.

12:53 a.m., Oct. 7: Officers observed a 1992 Volvo with an expired registration sticker on Squire Road. The vehicle was towed and the driver was issued a criminal summons.
