Stolen Bike, Vandalism and More in Police Logs for Aug. 20 to Aug. 25

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department.

4:38 p.m., August 20: A woman reported her son’s bike had been stolen near the train depot. The owner chained his bike to a sign on August 19 at about 7 a.m.. When he returned at 6 p.m., the bike was gone.

6:27 a.m., August 21: Officers responded to a report of vandalism to a car at 43 River Street. Three out of four tires were flat and the valves were cut off. This investigation is ongoing.

6:44 a.m., August 21: Officers responded to a report of a larceny from a vehicle on Sylvester Avenue. The caller told police that the car’s soft top had been taken. The caller also said that their dog started barking at about 2:30 a.m., but the caller ignored it. This investigation is ongoing.

3:42 p.m., August 21: The owner of a car forgot to put it in park while watering flowers at Wildwood Cemetery. The car rolled about 100 yards. No damage reported. 

12:07 p.m., August 22: Officers responded to a report of a graffiti on the Beacon Street Bridge.

4:49 p.m., August 24: Officers stopped a Jeep with an expired registration on Main Street. The driver was cited and the Jeep was towed.

5:12 p.m., August 25: Officers responded to a report of a car accident on Cambridge Street involving a biker. Upon arrival, officers discovered that there was no car involved, the bicyclist had just hit the curb and needed medical attention.
